Geothermal Pipes

Check out this georgous photograph of industrial geothermal pipes! They supply hot water, heated by the earth, to a small green energy-producing plant. These pipes are purely functional installations to harness natural energy. Who would have thought that a geothermal pipe would make a good subject for a photograph? But you really can’t argue with these striking lines and shadows. I think the thing that really makes this composition work, though, is the mountains and riding steam in the background. It contrasts with the stark, hard lines and surfaces of the geothermal pipes wonderfully. This photograph was published under creative commons by Andrea de Poda. Thanks, Andrea!
