Times Square at Night

This photograph is a fantastic example of the power of black and white. To me, it almost looks noir-ish. I just love the photographer’s choice to use the marble bench reflecting the light from all the signage and screens and windows, and make it essentially a focal point for the image. It works. It just works. And the effect is stunning. Yes, there are plenty of interesting things going on in the photograph, but my eye keeps being drawn back to the reflections on the marble. It makes the image engaging and powerful. This was published under Creative Commons by photographer Dave Center. Thanks Dave, and keep it up!
