Industrial Romanticism?

This admittedly creepy capture by Joelk75 (no real name given) is of an antique toy factory mold for making baby doll heads! I just love the colors and textures that convey such an unsettling but beautiful sense of decay and mutability. Isn’t it strange to think that with the advent and wide adoption of industrial coatings like Teflon and plastic, artifacts in this state will eventually cease to be? I’m not exactly sure whether that’s a good or bad thing, to be honest. Is there such a thing as industrial romanticism? In any case, it is a lovely, if unsettling, photo, and the photographer made a wonderful decision in taking it at an angle, as if there is a never ending row of dirty, rusting doll heads.
