Retro Computer meets Modern Product Photography

Here is something fascinating that I found: what amounts to product photography for retro computers, or what we might as well call “antique computers”. Posted by ccwoodcock (no real name given), it’s pretty impressive product photography at that. What you’re looking at is a circa 1985 Sinclair ZX  microdrive, with a spectrum in the foreground, which are notable for their rubber keypads. But darned if these two pieces of equipment don’t look new and interesting in this photograph. I’m not saying they look cutting edge on the scale of Apple or Microsoft or anything, but I would totally believe that they are some kind of modern scientific or medical equipment if I didn’t already know better. And that, my friends, is some effective product photography.
