In the world of insect photography, this – believe it or not – is somewhat rare. There are plenty of photos of various insects on twigs, grass, flowers, etc. There are considerably fewer insects photographed in man-made environments. I love that about this photo, though. The colors and textures of the man made surfaces bring out colors and textures in this grasshopper that I’m not convinced we as viewers would otherwise notice. The photographer of this beautiful composition is Brigitte Werner, a German hobby photographer snapping away in British Columbia, Canada. Click on her name to check out more of her work – you won’t regret it!
