Boxcar in Distress

boxcar graffiti
What texture! The corrugated metal side of this boxcar is rough with wear, the corroded surface filling the grooves. Contrast has been heightened, giving the bumps an almost grotesque, disease-like appearance. The nearly fluorescent colors add to the effect. Also intense is the lighting, creating a wealth of shadows and giving great definition to the smooth and abrasive areas alike. The photograph is full of such contrast and saturation, it almost appears as an abstract work of art.
