carrots farmers market
Now is the time of year when seed catalogs fill mailboxes and plans for spring planting begin. A common favorite? Carrots. What better reason to plant your own than this very photo! Bright orange and bathed in sunshine, they reach out to the viewer as if the roots are fingers prompting us to take them home. The bunch in the center is arranged so it looks like the center of a flower – a dahlia perhaps – each layer of “petals” extending further and further in the shape of a giant circle. Beautiful.

Thanks to Juan Chaparro
for sharing his magnificent photo with creative commons. It looks like you had a great day for visiting the farmers’ market!
