Calling NYC

payphones
New York City has everything, including the quickly-disappearing payphone. Taken at Grand Central Terminal, this photograph is a dazzling view of something we often walk right by. The depth of field focuses on the closest phone, the others projecting in a line across the frame. The alternating pops of black and yellow fill the center of the photo while the busy world of the subway whirls beyond. The second phone in is hung up slightly crooked, adding more interest and a human dimension. New York is calling.
