It’s hard to capture a fire – there’s lots of heat and movement. Ian Barbour managed to get it right in his photograph and now we can all enjoy a little digital fireplace. The sharp focus brings us right into the heat of things. The kindling blankets the bed of the pit, flames emerging and dancing high into the night sky. The longer I gaze at it, the easier it is to feel the fire’s warmth upon my skin and smell cinders burning as they drift across the breeze.
