This photograph is hauntingly beautiful! Lit up in the darkness of a winter evening, Montreal’s City Hall displays all her glory. The lighting almost looks unreal – it is pulling out such high levels of architectural detail in the windows, archways, and columns. The cool white glow of the illumination contrasts wonderfully with the building’s material and the discolored copper roof. It is also perfectly matched for the weather and pitch black sky, which enables the structure to take center stage. So much history, character, and mood captured in one frame.
Jim Trodel took this shot, sharing it under creative commons. Well done, Jim!
