So Much Wonder

moss
Nestled between the patio bricks in an ordinary backyard lies this patch of moss. Completely benign to the normal eye, this photograph has transformed it into another world. The many textures and colors we are so keen to pass over in our everyday lives are suddenly highlighted by the sunshine. The tall spikes look like towers in the kingdom’s castle, protecting the land from intruders (who look like giant boot soles no doubt). Drops of dew glisten from within the fibers, appearing as life beaming out. So much wonder can be found by those who dare to look.

Andrew Fogg took this photograph in his backyard and shared it on Flickr under creative commons.
