Last night, I was impressed with the sight of jack-o-lanterns illuminating my neighborhood’s front porches. That was until I saw this: 30,581 pumpkins all aglow to create a towering structure. The 2013 Keene Pumpkin Festival in Keene, New Hampshire actually set a new Guinness World Record for most lighted jack-o-lanterns on display.
I enjoy this photo for all of the stories it has to tell and the great sense of warmth it bestows on the viewer. It is also a bit of a mind-twister; making one think about what alternative materials a building could be constructed of.
Jeff Dell captured this shot at the Festival. Thank you for posting your photo under creative commons, Jeff!
